8.13 Demonstrative Adjective

A demonstrative adjective modifies a noun just as an attributive adjective does

• The behavior is a lot like the Attributive Adjective use:
  • Always comes after the noun (Dem Adjective Always After)
  • Always has the Article (Dem. Adjective Always Article)
    • A demonstrative adjective is referencing a specific something or someone; therefore, it is always definite
  • Always matches in Gender and Number
  • הָאִשָּׁה הַזֹּאת = this woman (FS)
  • הָאֲנָשִׁים הָהֵם = those men (MP)
  • Whenever we see literally “the words, the these” or “the woman, the this”, we can know “these” and “this” are functioning as demonstrative adjectives.
  • “and Moses spoke these words” (Deuteronomy 31:1)
