12.7 Lexical Form for Verbs

The lexical form is how you would locate the word in a dictionary

  • As Izzy discussed in the introductory video, the lexical/dictionary form for verbs is almost always the Qal Perfect 3rd Person Masculine Singular96
  • For the verb מָלַכְתִּי (I was king):
    • The root is מלך (no vowels)
    • The lexical form is מָלַךְ (take the root and inflect it as QP3ms form)
