24.8 Niphal Infinitives Strong
Niphal Infinitives are also infrequent (NA only 37x)
- In the Infinitive Construct and one form of the Infinitive Absolute, the נ of the Niphal is WRITTEN
- In the other form of the Infinitive Absolute, the נ of the Niphal is ASSIMILATED

- There is no specific pattern regarding when one of the two absolute forms is used versus the other
Derived Stem Infinitive Absolute \(V_S = \bar E\) (usually)
- In the QA, \(V_S = \hat O\) - ALWAYS
- Some forms of Niphal also have \(V_S = \hat O\)
- \(\hat O\) וֹ can be written defectively
- Given the infrequency of NA, do not be overly concerned with this anomaly
